the others were FANTASTIC! was struggling to keep my peepholes open by the time they came on, but they woke me up quicker than a defibrilator to the temples. Dominic is a fantastic frontman, really seems like he's enjoying it and smiling every second. marvelous, shall do my best to see them again soon, as all of you should

“Brighton/London post punk FUTURE ROCK’N’ROLL lords of chaos”; The Others will be playing a FREEEEEEEE! gig as part of BBC Radio One Live In Brighton at The Hanbury Ballroom, Kemptown this Friday (31st Oct).
Despite being the headline act, noise restrictions mean that this will have to be an early show. The Others will be on around 8:30pm with a curfew at 9:30pm. Support comes from In Vitro and Moonface. The venue opens around 6pm.
The next day we’ll be playing another free gig at our rehearsal gaff; Ground Zero Studios on Lewes Rd, Brighton. No idea of what time we will be on as the seven band line-up is yet to be completely confirmed. However, bands playing are thought to include at least one or potentially all of the following: British Sea Power, 80’s Matchbox and The Electric Soft Parade. Hmmm. Might be fun!

THE OTHERS: BANNED FROM THE TROUBADOUR SHOCKER!!!!!!!
Rumours are rife that certain members of popular beat combo The Others were banned from The Troubadour Theatre after becoming embroiled in a graffiti/crack smoking incident at last night's gig.
Meanwhile, the band look forward to bringing their particular brand of entertainment to Alan McGee's The Queen Is Dead Club night on Friday 24th Oct at The Borderline, Soho and have also arranged a date in Brighton town late next week as part of the BBC Radio One Live event. More details to follow.

BACK TO CHERRY JAM:
It's been a while. We've been sampling the finest sea breezes Brighton has to offer and writing new songs. Next Tuesday (14th Oct) why not head down to Royal Oak to witness The Others play, amongst the old favourites, the two new songs which we debuted at Hung Drawn And Quartered? Grab a drink, welcome to our cafe, pick a good seat and brace yourselves. Nearest Tube: Royal Oak. Cheers!

INVADING THE BROADSHEETS:
For anyone who missed today’s Guardian review of Alan McGee’s BBC Radio 1 Death Disco radio show here‘s a snippet about The Others:
“Going by the songs alone, the bands who attract him are fronted by scruffy urchins and are prone to promoting anarchy in the UK. For McGee, the sounds of the future are resolutely those of the past. He kicked off with a track called This Is For The People(sic) by The Others, a raw slice of anti-rich-kid punk that could have been recorded 25 years ago.”
by Maddy Costa
You can probably read the whole article online if you trawl through www.guardian.co.uk for long enough.

What? More press?
This time it’s from Planet Sound (Teletext music pages) 02/09/03.
The Others - How I Nearly Lost You:
As this Brighton Band have already supported Electric Six and are managed by Sean McClusky of the influential
Sonic Mook Experiment, they’re frankly just showing off by sending their demo.
But if they want confirmation, their caustic post-punk is well worth a deal, as it shoves an Attractions spirit
and tunes to match down one’s frontal lobe.
Let’s have an Other one, please.
